How Should I Prepare for My Makeup Application?
To ensure the best results, gently exfoliate your skin and lips before your appointment. This helps create a smooth base for makeup. If you plan to use a face mask or sheet mask, please do so the night before as well.
On the day of your appointment, cleanse your skin and apply your usual skincare products. Keep it simple and avoid using anything new to prevent unexpected reactions. Be sure to arrive with a clean, makeup-free face.
If you're booking any facials, waxing, dermaplaning or spray tans, it's recommended to schedule them 1-3 weeks before your appointment to avoid potential irritation or texture.
If you wear contact lenses, please have them in before your artist arrives. To protect your finished look, wear something that's easy to remove like a robe, button-up shirt or zip-up top.
Lastly, feel free to bring along inspiration photos! They're a great way to help communicate your vision and ensure we're aligned with your desired look.
Booking In Advance & Securing Your Spot
It's best to book your makeup artist as early as possible. Bookings are secured on a first-come, first-serve basis and availability can change quickly. Early booking is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
To secure your date, a 20% deposit is required. Once your deposit is received, your date will be reserved. Please note that all deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
Why Are There Travel, Early Start and Assistant Fees?
All bookings are mobile and on-location, as in-studio appointments are currently unavailable. Travel fees cover the costs associated with reaching your location including: fluctuating gas prices, vehicle maintenance, tolls and the extra time spent travelling across the GTA.
As a makeup artist, we also carry heavy makeup kits that require packing, loading, unloading and sometimes transporting up and down flights of stairs and long distances.
Early start and assistant fees reflect additional time, coordination and resources needed to ensure your experience runs smoothly and on schedule.
Ultimately, these fees help make the service more convenient for you by bringing the artistry directly to your home, hotel or Airbnb.
Why Are Bridal Trials So Important?
Bridal trials aren't mandatory but are highly recommended. They give you the chance to meet your makeup artist and collaborate on creating your dream wedding look.
During the trial, we'll start with a consultation to discuss your preferences, what you want to achieve and how to enhance your natural beauty so you look stunning both in person and in photos. We'll also go over any important details or plans for your wedding day.
I suggest scheduling your trial 1-2 months before the wedding. This timing helps keep the look fresh in your memory and allows time to make any adjustments before the big day.
How Do I Choose the Right Finish Time?
I recommend setting your finish time 1-2 hours before you need to leave for your event. This gives you plenty of time for getting dressed, taking photos and any final touches — without feeling rushed.
The more buffer time you allow yourself, the more relaxed and enjoyable your getting-ready experience will be. Trust me, no one wants to be in a hurry on such an important day!
Unsure How Many Services to Book?
I recommend booking services only for those who have confirmed they want makeup at the time of booking. This helps avoid delays and reduces the risk of losing your date to another inquiry.
If additional people decide they'd like to be added later, just let me know — I'll try my best to accommodate them if my schedule allows. However, please note that I can only guarantee the number of services initially booked, and I may not be able to add more if I have another appointment before or after yours.
Can I Change My Scheduled Appointment Time Later?
I understand that sometimes it's difficult to confirm an exact time when booking far in advance. I always do my best to accommodate schedule changes when possible.
To help me manage my bookings effectively, please provide the most accurate time range you can at the time of booking. This allows me to organize appointments before and after yours, while still securing your spot.
Do You Work Alone or Have a Team?
Currently, I work solo for most bookings. However, for larger groups of 5 or more, I bring in skilled additional makeup artists to help speed up the getting-ready process.
Are you looking for a hairstylist? I'm happy to recommend and provide trusted, experienced professionals who can cater to your group's needs based on the number of services required.

For any further questions or concerns, please email info@jzbeauty.ca.
Why Is a Deposit Required to Secure My Booking?
A deposit protects both you and me — it's that simple!
For you, it guarantees that your requested date and time are reserved exclusively for you. For me, it provides assurance that my time and services are committed for your special day.
This way, we both have peace of mind as your booking is confirmed.
How Do You Keep Your Kit Clean?
I use a dedicated set of makeup brushes for each client to keep everything separate and hygienic. At the end of every day, I thoroughly wash my brushes with a professional brush shampoo, let them dry overnight, and then sanitize them with alcohol spray to ensure they’re 100% clean.
I also disinfect my palettes, brush handles, and all equipment using alcohol spray and Lysol wipes to maintain a deep clean environment.
While I take every precaution to keep my tools and products sanitized, I cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions or complications that may occur during or after makeup application. Please be sure to inform me of any allergies, sensitivities, or skin concerns prior to your appointment to help prevent any issues.
In such cases, I highly recommend scheduling a trial to test products and find the best match for your skin.
What Is Airbrush Makeup?
Airbrush makeup is a lightweight, full-coverage foundation that looks natural and flawless on the skin. It’s long-lasting—perfect for hot days or oily skin — and photographs beautifully. That’s why I include it in all my services, ensuring your makeup stays fresh all day!
What Products Do You Use?
I use high-quality products from trusted brands like MAC, Makeup Forever, Makeup by Mario, Patrick Ta, Charlotte Tilbury, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Temptu, Chanel, Dior, Nars, Urban Decay, Estée Lauder, and more.
Are You Pet-Friendly?
Absolutely! I love animals and am completely comfortable around pets of all kinds — as long as they’re friendly. If your furry friend is part of your getting-ready space, I’m more than happy to share the room with them!
Can I Book A Trial Before Securing My Wedding?
Due to high demand, trials are reserved exclusively for brides who have already secured their wedding date with a deposit. Trial appointments cannot be booked until the deposit has been received. This helps ensure I give you the attention you deserve!
How Long Are Services?
Bridal makeup typically takes up to 2 hours while services for others (such as bridesmaids or guests) take approximately 1 hour each.
